GROUPS

If you are new to our church or a lifelong member, we encourage everyone to take advantage of some of these opportunities to fellowship and give back.

American Baptist

Women

The women get together once a month for fellowship over refreshments, and then work on mission projects.

Outreach & Missions

Volunteers from our church as well as other churches in the area work on numerous local and foreign mission projects.

Church Choir

Sing praises to our Lord while sharing the gospel through hymnal and contemporary music.

Social Committee

Create a spiritual communion within the church and develop relations amongst its members by planning social activities.

Card Committee

The card committee keeps in touch with church and community members and lets them know they are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

Kitchen Committee

Host breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners for church events by providing an organized, clean kitchen facility and excellent meals!

Teaching

We are always looking for dedicated teachers who wish to share their knowledge of the Bible and their love of the Lord.

Bible
Children's Church Teachers

Teachers provide biblical lessons and activities for children from age three to grade 4.

 

Weekly during Sunday morning Worship Service at 10:45 am.

Sunday School Teachers

Sunday school teachers ​are dedicated to the in-depth study of the scriptures. There are two adult classes, an elementary class, and a youth group for middle and high school.

Weekly at 9:30 am on Sundays prior to the Morning Service.

First Baptist Youth

Youth in middle and high school meet on Sundays mornings and participate in various outings and activities such as church lock-ins, biblical and educational trips, Christian concerts, and summer camps.

Every other Sunday during evening Worship Service at 6:00 pm

Nursery

Provide childcare during morning worship to children ages newborn to age 4.

Weekly during Sunday morning Worship Service at 10:45 am.

Toys

The following groups help make major decisions for the church and we welcome new perspectives, fresh ideas, and dedication to our values and mission.

Christian Education

Responsibilities include: overseeing many of the individual, educational oriented ministries in the church, preparing for Vacation Bible School and Camp Cowen, and educational training programs for adults.

Deacons

Derived from the Greek word diákonos meaning "servant" or "minister", deacons must be faithful servants, have integrity, be trustworthy.

Responsibilities include: ushering, administering communion, and many other acts of benevolence.

Trustees

Tasked with the maintenance and upkeep of God's house.

Responsibilities include: overseeing disbursement of funds and ensuring the church facility and assets are well maintained and insured. If any maintenance issues arrive, there is a log-book outside their upstairs office.

Stewardship

As custodians of Church funds, the Stewardship Committee has the responsibility for financial policies, accounting for monies, creating and maintaining the church budget, and maximizing financial resources to enable Church ministry.

Church Council

Comprised of members of the church and leaders of the individual committees who exhibit spiritual gifts such as leadership, wisdom, and administration.

Responsibilities include: oversight of the administrative functions of the church, changes in church staff, approval of the church's ministries objectives, and more.
